CMP Therapeutics Limited is a UK based biotechnology company, formed in 2004 as a “spin-out” from Oxford University.
The Company is uniquely developing products, based on its proprietary intellectual property around the application and manufacture of chitin microparticles (CMP), that address the major markets of colds and influenza, allergy, and inflammatory bowel diseases.
The Company’s technology is based on a natural oligosaccharide (chitin) that is:
- natural, marine-sourced
- non-toxic
- plentiful
- easily manufactured to GMP standard into CMP
- stable at room temperature for over 2 years
The Company has:
- Pre-clinical data showing efficacy against major consumer ailments, including influenza, allergy and IBD.
- Clinical studies demonstrating the safety and efficacy of CMP in man.
- A pipeline of new products addressing these opportunities, with proprietary positions for each.
- A route to market for its product range as either Over the Counter (OTC) products or medical foods, which provides a lower cost, quicker and lower risk market entry pathway.
- Clearly developed pathway to generate income from the products within 24 months, with a development pathway that includes relationships with multinational partners.
