ANTI-INFECTIVE NASAL SPRAY FOR PREVENTING INFLUENZA AND COLDS

CMP nasal spray for allergic rhinitis

There is a substantial body of experimental data showing that CMP is effective at reducing allergy symptoms against a wide range of common aeroallergens including grass and tree pollens, ragweed, house dust mite as well as dog and cat allergens. CMP Therapeutics is working on developing a simple nasal spray for delivering CMP. The device is a hand-held nasal spray bottle containing a suspension of chitin microparticles (CMP) in sterile saline for the treatment and prevention of allergy symptoms caused by aeroallergens.

Unique features of CMP compared to current therapies
Enhances the body’s natural defence against allergies
and infections
Treats the underlying causes of allergic disease
Non-toxic, biocompatible, readily degraded by naturally
occurring enzymes
No side effects
Suitable for long-term use
Suitable for children
Simple and inexpensive to produce
CMP is a stable material and easy to formulate

Indications for use of CMP nasal spray
The intention is that patients would use CMP nasal spray once or twice a day to control and reduce the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis during a period of allergen exposure such as would occur in high pollen count months or in the home where there is a high concentration of dust mite or animal dander.

The beneficial outcomes of using allermatic
Allergy symptom reduction
Reduced need for other medicines such as steroid or
antihistamines
Prevention of the progression of allergic disease into lower airway
congestion, cough and asthma
Reduce the incidence of upper airway infection
Prolonged use of CMP will enhance allergen desensitization
through correction of the underlying imbalance in the
immune system
As a prophylactic for children to protect against the development
of allergy and asthma
